Presenter bio

Professor Tuba Kocaturk is Interim Head of School in the School of Architecture and Built Environment at Deakin University. Trained as an architect, with a PhD from Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands, she is an internationally recognised design researcher with research experience across Europe, the UK, the US and Australia, and more than 100 publications across design, technology and urban systems innovation. 

As founding-director of Deakin’s Mediated Intelligence in Design (MInD) Lab, she leads industry-facing research and partnerships focused on translating circular economy principles into built environment practice. Her current work includes two major industry and government-funded initiatives: the AFWI-funded Circular Timber Manufacturing Precinct and a CSIRO Next Generation Graduates Program collaboration. She is also an editorial board member of Building Research & Information, contributing to international research quality and policy relevance in the built environment.
