Capacity building – collaboration cornerstones for reshaping existing assets

Location
Room 1 | Olympic Room
Time

Improving existing buildings is essential to reduce global emissions. The challenge is to overcome barriers around the business case, lack of knowledge and alignments of motivations between the consultants, asset owners, tenants, asset managers and facilities managers (FMs).

Facilities managers are at the forefront in prioritising and implementing energy efficiency decisions. Consultants can support FMs to improve building performance and make the case for investment through providing technical insight and sharing knowledge including available tools for auditing, optimising and reporting on building performance.

This presentation will showcase initiatives that demonstrate collaboration for capability building based on activities Geronimo has delivered with a national FM team. In addition, the repositioning an existing asset in Geelong will be explored, illustrating the link between goal, actions and outcomes and the role of the parties in delivering the result.
